Synopsis
From #1 New York Times bestseller Cassandra Clare and award-winner Wesley Chu comes the first book in a new series that follows High Warlock Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood as they tour the world after the Mortal War. The Red Scrolls of Magic is a Shadowhunters novel.
All Magnus Bane wanted was a vacation—a lavish trip across Europe with Alec Lightwood, the Shadowhunter who against all odds is finally his boyfriend. But as soon as the pair settles in Paris, an old friend arrives with news about a demon-worshipping cult called the Crimson Hand that is bent on causing chaos around the world. A cult that was apparently founded by Magnus himself. Years ago. As a joke.
Now Magnus and Alec must race across Europe to track down the Crimson Hand and its elusive new leader before the cult can cause any more damage. As if it wasn’t bad enough that their romantic getaway has been sidetracked, demons are now dogging their every step, and it is becoming harder to tell friend from foe. As their quest for answers becomes increasingly dire, Magnus and Alec will have to trust each other more than ever—even if it means revealing the secrets they’ve both been keeping.
My Review
Thank you to Erin for continuing to buddy read with me. I always look forward to our buddy reads every month. If you aren’t already following her blog you should definitely go and give her a follow.
What can I say about this book. Well I absolutely loved it for one thing. Magnus is my favorite character in the Shadowhunter world and Alec and Magnus (Malec) are my favorite couple so of course I am going to be all over a book that’s all about them. Magnus brings the humor and Alec brings the seriousness and the combination of the 2 of them just brings all of the feels. This isn’t all about their romance even though I would totally be fine if it was. We also get some action and fighting and drama I mean it is Clare we are talking about here. I don’t think she can write a book without lack of communication drama.
I really don’t know what else to say about this book. I’m sitting here trying to put into words how I felt about it but all I can come up with is that I freaking loved it and I want more so I guess I will just leave it at that.
I haven’t read this one yet, so happy to hear that you loved it! I might have to go back and pick it up later.
