Hello bookworms!!
I forgot I didn’t schedule this to go up this morning so it’s going up way later than I usually post. I finally got the results of my ultrasound this week after calling and leaving 2 messages. I don’t think I ever explained why I got the ultrasound done though. Basically I noticed a lump under my arm within the past year and I just kept forgetting to mention it to my doctor but I finally realized that I should really get it checked since I have lost a lot of family to cancer. They told me that they think it’s a lipoma which is a non cancerous fatty tumor. They also mentioned lymph nodes but basically said it’s nothing to worry about right now but they want me to get another ultrasound done in 6 months to see if it has grown any. The only thing I am worrying about now is the fact this is the 3rd lump on my body that I have found in the last year. I mentioned the other 2 to my primary doctor and I’m pretty sure she said they were lipoma to but she didn’t get any scans of them. Should I be worried that they are just popping up all of a sudden. I didn’t think of these questions until after I hung up with the doctor of course. Other than that this has been a typical week for me. I’ve been reading like crazy this week but I haven’t finished very many books.
~ Recently Finished ~
I’ve technically only finished 1 book this week and that was The Witch and the Vampire by Francesca Flores. This book releases later this month and I was provided an ecopy from NetGalley. While this was a bit repetitive which became very annoying overall I ended up really enjoying this one. There was something that happened in the end that I wish would have went differently but it wasn’t a bad ending at all. I ended up DNFing the Regulators by Richard Bachman. I made it 152 pages into it which I believe was 5 or 6 chapters. This one was really confusing me and I hated the mixed media that was included because it took me out of the story even more when I was already struggling with it and I just didn’t care about any of what was happening. It’s my first DNF of the year and hopefully my last.
~ Currently Reading ~
I’m currently in the middle of 5 books. I will hopefully be finishing my buddy reread of The Everlasting Rose by Dhonielle Clayton either today or tomorrow. I’m currently 78% into it and this time around I am not liking characters I liked the first time and everything is bothering me slightly more than it did the first time but overall I’m still liking it. I did make a little more progress in Legendborn by Tracy Deonn. I’m now 44% into it and I’m still finding Bree to be whiny which is really getting on my nerves and there’s still a lot being thrown at us that it’s all so hard to keep up with and therefore a bit confusing but overall I’m liking it. I’m 89% into my buddy read of Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas and I think I can finally say I’ve been sucked in, mostly by the romance but still I’m to the point where I just want to keep reading. This one I will definitely be finishing today. I started In Harmony by Emma Scott Friday night only expecting to read a chapter or two but I was immediately sucked into this story and I didn’t want to stop reading it. I’m currently 72% into it (since this is going up so late in the day I have actually finished this book today) and every time I pick it up I struggle to put in down. Last but not least I started my buddy read of Sleeping Beauties by Stephen & Owen King. I’m 18% into this and I don’t really know much of what’s going on but I am really intrigued.
~ Reading Next ~
I have 5 books left on my March TBR that I haven’t started yet and I don’t know which one I will be in the mood for first. They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera is a last minute addition to my TBR because my friend Jonny asked me if I wanted to buddy read something with him and this is what we decided on. We will be starting this one later in the week.
What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What do you plan to read next? Have you read any of the books I mentioned?
Nice update, bestie! I’m sorry to hear about your health concerns. Maybe call them back when they’re open the next day? I always think of crucial questions after the fact too. So frustrating! Looking forward to our buddy read ☺️

Of course! Yeah, I feel that way too as a patient, but I’m sure they don’t mind, especially if it’s something important. 😊

True. I plan on calling my primary doctor tomorrow to get an appointment scheduled for my headaches so I might just ask her and see what she thinks.

Besides Maas’s books, I’ve only read Tattered Stars. I just recently read it and absolutely loved it. Now I can’t wait to read more in the series.

I hope just like the doctor says that these lumps you’re discovering are nothing to be worried about. Sending you hugs😊 I had also liked crown of midnight quite a bit and heir of fire was good too. But for some reason I stopped after heir of fire ..😊

I hope your next check-up comes back okay! I have a few of those lumps as well that my mom is pretty sure are lipomas (she’s a nurse and has them, too), but I keep forgetting to get them checked out, too. My mom said if you have one lipoma, it’s fairly common to have several throughout your life! So hopefully they’re nothing to worry about!!🤞

Thank you for telling me all of that I appreciate it. It makes me not stress so much over it.
