It’s Monday What Are You Reading?

What I Recently Finished Reading

I read 2 books this week. First I finally finished my reread of Six of Crows. I still enjoyed it the second time around. I didn’t remember a lot of what happened so it was like I was reading it for the first time. Then I finished reading Heir of Doom yesterday and I really enjoyed this one as well. It took a while for me to fully get into it but the last half of the book makes up for it.

What I'm Currently ReadingI just finished Heir of Doom yesterday so I haven’t started another book yet. The Romanceopolyathon starts today though so I will be starting another book soon.

What I Plan To Read Next

I plan on reading these 3 books for the Romanceopolyathon this week. Hopefully I can get through all of these in a week but we shall see.

Credit as always to The Book Date. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What did you think of them if you have? What have you been reading lately? What are your reading plans for the week?

  1. I’ve read none of those! 😂 Six of Crows is high on my TBR though and I’m hoping to start it next month! I’m currently reading ACOWAR for the second time, and Holy Sister.

      1. Ah, I get that. It’s not nice when you get this foreboding sense that an author may be about to move in a direction you don’t want them to. Maas is a master at writing characters in my opinion, they’ve all got so many sides to them and I love them all – and I guess that includes the villains but not in the sense that like them, just you’ve got to have a good villain to the story to hate! 😂 Hopefully you continue to love the books if and when you pick up the next 😀 I’d be interested in your thoughts! I read them all the first time in the space if a week 😂 I was completely absorbed!

      2. ACOTAR was my first Sarah J. Maas book. I definitely plan to continue it I just have those books yet. Since I own the first one I want to own the rest of them as well. I loved Tamlin in ACOTAR and hated Rhysand which I know is an unpopular opinion.

      3. Lips are sealed regarding it all as I don’t want to spoiler anything! 😂 But I recommend the Throne of Glass series too by her. The first book is really weak in my opinion, not like how I feel about ACOTAR (as I thought that was amazing, but it just didn’t compare to the others), but book two got me hooked! Admittedly I need to finish them still… 😂 I haven’t read Tower of Dawn or Kingdom of Ash – I need to reread or find a recap as it’d been a while between books for me – but I hear good things about them, so I’m hopefully it has a good end 😀

  2. I just finished doing my reread of Six of Crows the other week, and I think I enjoyed it more this time around, I think it’s because I have a better understanding of the world now that I’ve read The Grisha Trilogy.

      1. I hadn’t fully understood the full scope of the magic system, and I now realize the suttle references and jokes that were made throughout SOC that I never picked up on.

      2. Oh yeah I caught on to the references as well but I didn’t feel like not knowing that kept me from enjoying the story and understanding it the first time but I agree that knowing those things enhances the experience.

      3. For me it’s something I didn’t realize until my second time around. I ‘m glad you enjoyed it regardless, and I hope you enjoy Crooked Kingdom as well.

      1. I think I have it 4 stars so I did still really enjoy it I guess my expectation were so high because of all the hype that it was a slight let down which is why I say it was way over hyped.
