Hello bookworms!!
The 2019 Library Love Challenge is a new to me challenge. It’s hosted by Angel’s Guilty Pleasures who also created the graphic above. I already borrow books from my local library but I thought this would be a fun challenge to participate in. I’m not going to include all of the rules in this post but if you are interested just click the link above and it will take you to the sign-up post with all of the rules.
Levels:
- Dewey Decimal: Read 12 books
- Thrifty Reader: Read 24 books
- Overdrive Junkie: Read 36 books
- Library Addict: Read 48 books
- Library Card on Fire: Read 60+ books
I’ve decided to keep my goal for this one low since I am participating in so many challenges this year but I am anticipating borrowing way more than 12 books from my library.

Do you take advantage of your local library? Are you participating in this challenge or something like it?
This seems like a fun challenge. Between my husband, daughter, and I we usually hover between 70 and 100 checkouts at any given time. Most of them are picture books for my kindergarten, but, I read 78 books from my library in 2018.

That’s awesome. I don’t even know how many I got from the library last year. I’m sure I will get way more than 12 I just wanted to set a goal I knew I could for sure reach.

More than half of the books I read in 2018 came from the library, I volunteer at one so it’s so easy for me to borrow books, I also take full advantage of Overdrive, and Hoopla Digital.

I don’t even know how many books I borrowed from the library last year. I know it wasn’t as much as you though. I have the Libby app but I don’t get on it much because they usually don’t have very many audiobooks available and the ones that are available on there I’m not interested in.

I use Libby more than overdrive now, Libby has page numbers and I feel that Libby has a much better reading interface than overdrive.

I tried signing up on overdrive a couple years ago but my library wasn’t on there. I tried Libby last year sometime and it was on there but like I said I never use it.

That’s odd because LIbby is an Overdrive app.

Yeah maybe it wasn’t on either when I first tried but it’s on both of them now.

I really need to start supporting my local library again so I’m getting on board with this challenge! 🙂 Good luck with yours.

I really ought to use my library more. I’m trying to save money this year, so instead of hitting the buy button… I should borrow instead 😊

Yeah I’m trying not to buy so many books as well.

I really like the sound of this challenge. Since we just moved, I haven’t had the opportunity yet to check out our “new” local library but I’m planning on paying a visit soon. I’m hoping for a decent English section – fingers crossed. Maybe, just maybe, I can sign up to this challenge then as well!
