Book Hauls

May And June Library & Audiobook Haul

Book Haul

Hello bookworms!!

I have done library hauls before on my blog but sometimes I only borrow like 1 book so I thought I would combine my library hauls with my audiobook hauls since I don’t actually keep any of these books. I didn’t do this post in May for some reason so this list is going to be for May and June. That being said lets see what books I have borrowed from the library and what audiobooks I listened to the past couple of months.

Library

I’ve only read 4 books from the library in 2 months which is kind of slacking a little for me. In May I had the urge to read graphic Novels so I went to the library to see what they had. Unfortunately my library didn’t have much to choose from but I did find Nimona  which I ended up enjoying. As for Through the Woods I thought the graphics were stunning but I didn’t enjoy the stories in this one. I reread Stalking Jack the Ripper as part of the #StalkAlong readalong and I still really enjoyed it. I will say Audrey Rose was way more annoying to me this time but I still loved everything about the book. I usually only include books that I have actually completed on these lists each month but I am still optimistic that I will be able to finish Through the Dark by the end of the month.

Audiobooks

These are all from this month. I read P.S. I Still Love You earlier this month during the buzzwordathon. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I did the first book but I do still want to read the next book. I am still listening to After You. I’m 72% into it and I am hoping to finish it today. Again another one that’s not as good as the first book but I’m not hating it. I’m also still listening to The Devouring Gray. I’m only 24% into this one and I’m just hoping to finish it by the end of the month. I’m struggling to keep up with who is who but other than that I am liking it.

Have you read/listened to any of the books I mentioned? What was the last book you borrowed from the library? Do you listen to audiobooks? What have you listened to lately?

  1. Nimona looks great! What a good find. I really need to read PS I Still Love You–I don’t have any expectations to enjoy it as much as the first, but I can’t leave the characters hanging like they are in my head right now! :p Happy reading!

    1. I really enjoyed Nimona. I didn’t think I would get into it as much as I did. Yeah I think if you go into P.S. I Still Love You without any expectations you might be ok. I didn’t hate it or anything. I was annoyed throughout the entire book but I couldn’t stop reading.

  2. I read Stalking Jack the Ripper. I loved it! I’m reading Hunting Prince Dracula right now. I listen to audiobooks too, currently listening to Return by Karen Kingsbury….my absolute favorite author.

      1. I’m not too far into it at this point so I don’t have much of an opinion on it and the only issue I’m having so far is keeping up with who is who. I am intrigued by the creepy atmosphere of it and I can’t wait to figure out what’s going on.

  3. Great post! I read Stalking Jack the Ripper and it was good. I have those audiobooks on my TBR as well. Unfortunately, I don’t have a library close by, so if I want to read a book I have to buy it or borrow it from friends. I love audiobooks, but not all of them. Sometimes they are so well done with special effects like the Illuminae audiobook, but sometimes they are plain and boring like a robot was narrating it. I make sure an audiobook is going to be good before I get into it.

    1. Thank you!! I am obsessed with the Stalking Jack the Ripper series. The audiobooks aren’t available on Scribd unfortunately so I’ve been borrowing the books from my library. I actually already own the books but they are in storage somewhere. That sucks that you don’t have a library near you. My favorite way to listen to audiobooks is to follow along in the book as well. I’ve noticed that even if the narration isn’t the greatest so long as I’m following in the book I am good.

  4. I liked Me Before You so much that I have been hesitant to pick up After You. I heard it’s completely different from the prequel, while the previous book touches on a very profound issues such as life and human dignity, this one (After You) reads more like your typical Chick lit. Well, I’m not a massive chick-lit type, so… still hesitant lol

    1. Yeah I was hesitant to read it because of what everybody was saying about it. It’s definitely no where near as good as Me Before You but I’m not hating it. People have told me to power through this one because the third one is good as well.

    1. I haven’t read the last book in the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series yet but I definitely want to. From the first 2 that I’ve read I liked the first one so much more. Hopefully the last book will be a good one.
