I finished 2 books this week both of which were unexpected additions to my TBR as well as 5 star reads. First up I read Academic Curveball by James J. Cudney. I beta read this book for James a couple months back. Today is release day for Academic Curveball. I definitely recommend y’all read this book as well as his other books because they are all amazing. If you want to read my full review click here. And the last book I finished this week was Every Breath by Nicholas Sparks. Y’all know by now he is a favorite author of mine and in my eyes he can do no wrong. If you want to read my full review click here. There’s also a giveaway in that post so if you live in the US or Canada please click the link and enter.
I haven’t made any progress with The Pirate’s Booty. I’m still only 24% through it. I really need to get on it but I can’t make myself pick it up. I mentioned last week that I was starting a buddy read of Rebecca that was going to take us about 2 weeks to get through because we are only reading 2 chapters a day. We have read over half of the book at this point and I am still so/so on it. Before I started this book I came across a list on Goodreads that classified this book as horror which made me even more interested in it but so far this is absolutely not horror at all which is disappointing. I am intrigued enough to want to continue on with it. Lastly I started Emma in the Night. I was hoping to finish it before the spookathon started but seeing as that starts today that unfortunately didn’t happen. I am on page 160/308 which is a little over half way through and I am enjoying it but I don’t know what’s real and what’s not. Like I don’t know who to trust because everyone seems to be a little crazy but I am liking it.
I completely forgot about needing to read Time’s Up, Afton because it is being released at the end of the month so this is another addition to my TBR this month. Luckily it fits in one of the challenges for spookathon which is happening from the 15-21. I also really want to read my illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
Credit as always to The Book Date. Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What have you been reading lately? What are your reading plans for the week? Are you participating in spookathon? If so, what do you plan on reading for it?
The HP illustration is new to me, thanks for sharing!
I appreciate you highlighting Academic Curveball, too. Have a great week!

Oh I just read the synopsis and that sounds very good. Can’t wait to see what you think of it once you finish it.

Halfway through and I still like it. So far I’ve only found one thing annoying but it’s minor and it could be just me.
