Today I am going to be sharing my year in books with y’all. Just like last year though Goodreads is a little bit off on some of the statistics but luckily I keep up with it in my journal. Also to keep this post from being extremely long I have made a separate post that will have a list of every book I read in 2019 along with pictures and links to reviews I have written and it will be going up a little later today. Without further ado here is my year in books for 2019
Right off the bat Goodreads is not accurate. First I have actually read 120 books. For some reason Memento by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff is not on Goodreads so I couldn’t include it. Next up is the page count. When I get sent books 9 times out of 10 I have to go through and count the pages myself which is why I keep up with my page count in my journal. Goodreads says I’ve read 36,344 pages and I say I have read 37,829 pages so I can’t really accurately tell you how many pages I’ve read but I’m sure it’s somewhere between those two numbers.
I have read several big books this year but my average length is still only 305. I kind of thought it might be a little higher.
My most popular book last year was the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and this year it’s the same except I didn’t read the illustrated edition this time. My average rating has actually gone up some. Last year it was 3.6 this year it’s 3.9
This is a surprise. Not because it doesn’t deserve it because it 100% does I just kind of expected one of the more popular books that I read to be the highest rated. If you haven’t read this series you definitely should. It’s such a cute read and at the same time is educational for the kids.

Unlike last year I didnt keep up with male/female authors or new to me/already read authors. I started the list but I didn’t keep up with it throughout the year. That’s definitely something I want to try and do in 2020. How was 2019 for you?
