Three years has passed since Roxanne left. She’s obeyed and fulfilled Remo’s every wish.
His latest command, however, will send her back to Earth. Aware her presence Earth-side is furthering Remo’s plans, Roxanne delves into an impossible chase against time, the preternatural community, and herself.
But she might already be too late, and Roxanne experiences firsthand that when desperate people are pressed against a rock, they’re willing to commit just about anything.
I want to thank the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. If you have read this trilogy you probably want to steer clear of this review because it is the last book in the trilogy so there could be potential spoilers.
I had to get reacquainted with some of the characters to begin with because it has been a while since I read the previous book. It didn’t take to long to remember who was who though.
This book take place 3 years after the events of the previous book or just a few weeks after the events depending on what realm you’re in.
The first 2 books were action packed so that’s what I went in expecting with this book. The first 50% of this book was slow going. it kind of felt like an info dump. We are basically just reading Roxanne telling multiple different groups about what Remo has taught her and what they have been doing. Which isn’t really boring but to me it dragged on because I was ready for the epic showdown.
Speaking of the showdown there was a lot of build up to it and it was action packed and very bloody. There were some twists thrown in that I didn’t see coming at all.
I know it sounds like I didn’t like the book but I did. The author has done a great job developing the characters throughout the books, the world building is well done and imaginative the romance was amazing and to be honest I would have loved more on that because I love me some romance.
