Hello bookworms!!
So I thought it would be fun to share a list of all of the unread books I have on my bookshelf. There’s a lot and the sad thing is this isn’t even all of the unread books I have. I had to put some of my unread books into storage with all of the books I have read because I just didn’t have enough room for everything. The books I am listing today are the ones I saw myself getting to quicker than the other ones. Also at the end of the list I will include a list of the books I have added in 2021 so far. I’m hoping to keep this updated throughout the year when I’ve read books and when I’ve added books and sharing my progress with y’all. And one last thing this list doesn’t include ebooks it’s only my physical books. Ok enough rambling lets get to this long list shall we.

As of the end of 2020 I have 162 unread books on my bookshelf and I have already added 1 in 2021. It would be nice to get this down to 100 by the end of 2021 but I think that’s a little bit too ambitious for me so my hope is to just read from this list as much as possible this year. Have you read any of these books? Which ones do y’all think I should get to as soon as possible?
I would be breaking out in hives…

It doesn’t bother me to have so many books I just don’t have room for more books so I need to read what I have so I can fit new ones 😊

I have 100 books on my TBR. It gives me nightmares

My Goodreads want to read shelf has over 1500 books on it but that includes all the books I eventually like to read not just the ones I own.

Seriously scratching the hives that developed…

Oh no I’m sorry. It doesn’t bother because I know if I didn’t add all of the books I am interested in reading I would forget about them because I have a bad memory so I’m glad I have that long list.

I would stress about not having time to read them all! But that’s my personality type!

Yeah I know that I will probably never be able to read every book I want to in my lifetime but I don’t really thank about that. But I totally understand how it stresses some people out.

Other things in my life cause me some anxiety but for some reason I never have issues when it comes to anything book related.

My anxiety is when I have too much of anything. I hate when my cabinets and drawers are over flowing

Yeah I understand that. Me and my husband live with my in laws right now so all of our stuff is in one room with us so I get a little anxious over all of that but I can’t do anything about it right now so I try not to let it get to me too much.

I definitely understand why you keep everything minimal you have to do what’s best for you.

That’s the hardest lesson we learn though, isn’t it? How to do what is right for us even if others think it’s ridiculous.

I would prioritize Dear Martin, V.E. Schwab, The Kite Runner, More Happy Than Not, Renée Ahdieh, Lore, and 1984 right now. I would wait until the summer to read The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen and the Keira Cass books.

Yes it did. I had planned to make a TBR jar but my computer didn’t have enough space to download a printer to it so I thought it would make a good blog post since I spent all that time on it.

Thank you so much! It’s only January but so far I think I’m doing a good job.

Wow! That’s quite an undertaking just writing them all down! I don’t even know where to tell you to start…I mean Sarah J. Maas is my favorite. But I also really loved The Wrath and the Dawn. You have several on your list that sit unread on my bookshelves! Totally guilty!

Yeah it was a huge undertaking. I had planned to make a TBR jar which is why I typed them up in the first place but I wasn’t able to print them so I made a blog post instead. I have been meaning to read the Throne of Glass series ever since I got it but for some reason I keep putting it off.

It’s a lot of books and they aren’t short, so that can be intimidating, but I zipped through the whole series twice now. LOL!

I think once I start them I will zip through them I just need to make myself start them.

Wow you have so many! I’ve been meaning to read the To All The Boy’s series so let me know your thoughts!

I’ve enjoyed the first 2 books. They didn’t blow me away or anything but they were fun to read. I’m hoping to finish that trilogy off this year sometime.

I’m sure you can get it down some this year. 🙂

You have quite a few good ones on there. I love Jenn Bennett, so I hope you give those a try soon. Jason Reynolds is always great, too. Good luck with your reading!

Thank you!! Every month I am randomly picking 3 books from my shelf using a number generator plus I’ve used several of my books for the challenges I’m participating in this year so hopefully they will eventually come up sometime this year. 😊

Oh, this isn’t a bad number at all compared to me hahah. I think getting it to under 100 is a great goal. Good luck, Misty!

You have so many books on your TBR of which I have never heard! I generally think of myself as literate, but your list has me questioning things… 😉
I would recommend Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl and Orwell’s 1984. Also, if you haven’t read it yet, Gary Shteyngart’s 1984-inspired Super Sad True Love Story (apologies if I’m adding to your TBR, but… it’s worth it).
I definitely think you could knock at least 61 of these off your TBR this year, but doubt your TBR will get down to 100, because I assume you will learn about other amazing books you want to read that will have to be added.
Happy reading!

Thank you yeah I will for sure continue to add to this list throughout the year. Oh there are books that people talk about all the time that I’ve never heard of before.
