So I have learned something about myself doing this post and that is that I tend to read the first book in a duology, trilogy or series and then I never continue for some reason. Some of these I’m not sure if they are complete or not so I put the amount of books that I know of. Have you read any of these series? Are you like me and have a lot of on going series?
It is difficult to catch up with all the series out there. One reason for me is that if I try to catch up on one, it’s in a sense a step back while other releases fly by me and it puts me behind. So, in a forward motion to stay with new releases I am hindering myself to finish older series. I have found a compromise though. For the first 3 weeks of the month I will read mostly arcs and on the last week I will read to catch up with older books. Or, I listen to older books on overdrive along in the entire month, while reading arcs.
Good luck catching up 🙂

That’s a good idea but I don’t read a whole lot of new releases when they are first released so I don’t have a good excuse for not reading them lol. I’m hoping to knock some of these off this year.

I so relate to this. There are so many series where I have only read the first book as well. Many of them are on your list. I do not know why I don’t continue on with series, especially since I do really enjoy a lot of first books! I guess I’m just a standalone person.

Yeah I have no idea why I don’t continue them. I mean some of them is because I don’t have the book yet but for the most part I have the next book or I can at least get them form the library or something. All of the ones on this list are ones I have enjoyed and want to continue but for whatever reason I wait a long time to continue with them.

In the actual official Anne of Green Gables Series, there are only six books. The other three books are about Anne’s children and their friends and are a completely different series as Anne is not the main character.

That’s ok I still want to read them.

On Goodreads it has 9 listed and that’s what I’m going by.

If you want to go by Goodreads by all means go ahead, I’m informing you that the other three books are technically a separate series.

I know thank you I was just saying I was going by what Goodreads is saying and I want to read all of them anyways so it’s ok.

Goodreads can be annoying like that sometimes, it’s like when none of the editions of Goodreads page numbers match up with the page numbers of the book that’s in your hands.

How come you stopped reading the series? Wasn’t interested?

Oh no I’m interested in all of them . There are a couple on the list that I am waiting for the next book to be released and as for the others I just haven’t gotten around to reading the other books yet for one reason or another but I definitely plan to eventually.

If I read the 1st book in the series and love it, I have to, haaaaave to, read the next one.

If I have it I will sometimes immediately start it but not very often apparently lol.

Absolutely! Pretty much in the same boat, which is why I shy away from picking up series.
Also, I just love the way you’re tracking the half finished series you’re reading.. this is a great way to track it and I think I’m going to borrow this from you and add something similar in my book journal too😊hope that’s ok😊

I think I read more books that are part of series then I do standalone which is why I’m in this mess lol. Thank and yes you can definitely us it.

Your list looks like mine and I’m sure many others. I have so many that I need to catch up on, but what do I do? Start the first book in a completely new series. Maybe I should prioritize catching up on the old series and set some rules for myself.

Yeah I’ve thought about doing that but I don’t think I would actually stick to it lol.
